Our guide wanted us up at 5am to hike up Poonhill to see the sunrise. Marcelo stayed in bed. I ventured out. The 19 degree morning was bad on my asthma; I struggled the whole way up. The sunrise was ok, but the view from our room wouldn’t have been any worse.

After breakfast, we packed and headed straight up out of Ghorepani. Again, I was on the struggle bus, questioning a whole lot of things. We reached the top of the ridge, where planes heading through the pass were flying below our elevation. We then spent the next hour traversing east.

Then came the ultimate downhill – variable rock steps downhill for miles.
We had one last uphill climb into our stop for tonight in Tadapani. Overall a difficult day with some serious uphills.
